About Ink
Ink is a colour word game built on the Stroop effect. The word says GREEN, but it is painted blue, and you tap the colour of the paint, not what the word says.
Reading is automatic, so the word keeps pulling at you. Later cards sometimes flip the rule to tap the word, there are nine colours, and even the answer buttons get painted in the wrong colours.
Tips for a higher score
- Blur your focus slightly so you see colour before letters.
- Check the rule pill on every card.
- Answer the colour in your head first, then find its button.

Ink: questions
How do you play Ink?
A colour word appears, painted in a different colour. Tap the colour of the paint, not what the word says.
Is Ink free to play?
Yes. Play Ink free in your browser, with no sign-up and no download. It is also in the free Sharpday app for Android.
What is the Stroop effect?
It is the delay you feel when a colour word is printed in a different colour. Naming the ink is slower because reading the word happens without trying.
